No data is stored on external servers or transmitted to third parties, except for support form submissions (via Web3Forms), in-app purchases, and user-initiated backup sharing as described below.
3. Purpose of Data Processing
We process your data solely to provide the following app functionalities:
- Camera Access: To allow you to take or select photos of your plants for tracking purposes. Photos are stored locally.
- Notifications: To send reminders (e.g., for watering plants) and use the deviceās vibration feature for alerts.
- Internet Access: To submit your support inquiry via the Web3Forms service so that your message is delivered to support@trackyourgrow.com, and to provide access to external services (website, social media, community platforms).

- PIN Authentication: To secure app access with a user-defined PIN, if enabled.
- Local Data Management: To store and manage plant-specific data, such as watering schedules, harvest dates, growth progress, and grow box configurations, locally using SharedPreferences.

- User-Initiated Sharing: To enable sharing of backup files via email or messaging apps, if you choose to do so.
- User Support: To facilitate communication with our support team when you submit inquiries via the in-app support form (delivered through Web3Forms).
4. Data Storage Location and Security
All data is stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences and the deviceās file system (for photos and backup files). We implement the following measures to protect your data:
- Local Storage: Plant photos, plant-specific data, PIN data, and reminder settings are stored securely on your device.
- Encrypted PIN: The PIN, if set, is stored in an encrypted format locally and is not stored in any external database.
- Encrypted Backup Files: Backup files are encrypted using AES with PBKDF2 key derivation if you provide a password. Unencrypted backups are stored temporarily during export/import and deleted afterward.
- Support Form Transmission: Support form submissions (email address, subject, message) are sent over HTTPS to Web3Forms, which forwards them to support@trackyourgrow.com. Web3Forms processes this data only for delivery; see Section 7 for third-party details.
- No Server Storage: No data is uploaded to or stored on our own servers.
- Access Control: Only you, as the device user, have access to the locally stored data. If a PIN is set, the app requires PIN entry for access.
- Temporary File Cleanup: Temporary files created during backup/import are deleted automatically after the operation completes or is canceled.
